May 2, 2011

Well, here we are in May already!  Where does the time go?  Wow.  We finally did hear from the kids' caseworker last Friday.  We do not have enough information still, and a lot of the information she did share was not as helpful as we would have liked.  The kids have not been in therapy over the last 7 months and that really upsets us because we feel like it is so very essential for them and for us.  They are supposed to start this week so we will see if that actually happens.

In other news, I started researching for the second time...other things that cause a person to feel like bugs are crawling under their skin.  There is a new disease called Morgellon's Disease and it is not widely accepted at this point.  Many people pass of their symptoms as a result of mental problems while others say that mental problems could develop because they are dealing with this disease.  It is always so interesting when someone new surfaces because nobody wants to believe it... Much like Fibromyalgia..Many doctors thought patient's pains were not real but are now finding more and more research that it does actually exist..Will this be the same with Morgellon's Disease?  It reports that there is loss of vision, a feeling like bugs are crawling, biting and stinging you, inability to focus, loss of short term memory, and skin lesions/rashes... Could this be what the little girl we want to adopt is struggling with? Is it not really a mental diagnosis but Morgellons???!
